Renting a boat on Lake Lewisville comes down to one choice: do you want to run it yourself, or do you want a captain to handle everything while your group focuses on the occasion?
Boat rental on Lake Lewisville is available through Mutineers Charter Services, a veteran-owned charter company with three luxury yachts and USCG-licensed captains. Every rental is captained — your group enjoys the water while our crew handles navigation, safety, and lake logistics. We serve guests from across the DFW metro, launching from Arrowhead Park on Lake Lewisville in Hickory Creek, TX.
We run over 200 charters per season across parties, corporate events, weddings, and sunset cruises. Most weekend dates book 2–3 weeks in advance during peak season (May–September). Weekday charters offer more flexibility and 10–15% lower rates.
No other charter company on Lake Lewisville operates three named luxury yachts with a USCG Master Captain.

Sound systems, swim deck access, and direct routes to Party Cove — where your group anchors alongside other boats in the lake's most legendary social spot. Groups of 20–50 guests. Best for friend reunions, general celebrations, and groups where the vibe matters more than the venue. BYOB welcome.

Groups of 25–50 guests booking a large event
Gypsy Danger (67 ft) — upper-deck dance floor, A/C cabin, BBQ area.
Groups of 15–25 guests prioritizing comfort
Whiskey Danger (52 ft) — enclosed climate-controlled cabin, best for Texas heat and sunset cruises.
Groups of 10–20 guests wanting a private party atmosphere
Stranger Danger (45 ft) — custom upper party deck, highest per-person energy, most affordable option.
Every Mutineers boat rental is captained. A USCG-licensed professional operates the vessel while your group focuses entirely on the experience — no navigation worries, no anchoring stress, and no one has to skip the drinks to be the designated driver. On a captained charter, you step aboard, the captain handles the lake, and your group celebrates.

Choose a captained charter when:
Self-drive rentals (offered by other operators, not Mutineers)
require at least one designated operator with a Texas boater education card (mandatory for anyone born after September 1, 1993). Self-drive rentals are typically limited to smaller pontoons (20–24 ft), come with a security deposit and damage liability, and restrict your group to a single inexperienced operator on a busy lake.

Boat rental pricing on Lake Lewisville depends on the vessel and charter duration. At Mutineers, the 45-foot Stranger Danger starts at approximately $290–$375 per hour, while the 67-foot Gypsy Danger starts at approximately $490–$675 per hour (based on 4-hour charter minimums).
Most groups book 4-hour charters, which provide the best overall experience and value.
Weekday rentals are typically 10–15% lower than weekend rates. All pricing includes captain, crew, fuel, safety equipment, and sound system — no hidden fees.
Many groups split the cost among attendees — even on the flagship Gypsy Danger, a full group charter can cost less per person than a typical restaurant or venue experience.
Arrowhead Park in Hickory Creek is approximately 25 minutes from Dallas, 20 minutes from Plano, and 40 minutes from Fort Worth via I-35E. Lake Lewisville is the closest major lake to the Dallas metro — 29,500 acres with 233 miles of shoreline. On a summer Saturday, this lake is the busiest boating destination in North Texas — but from a captained yacht, your group has its own private experience without navigating marina traffic or hunting for a boat ramp.
Mutineers operates three yachts: the 45-foot Stranger Danger (up to 20 guests), the 52-foot Whiskey Danger (up to 25 guests), and the 67-foot Gypsy Danger (up to 50 guests). For groups larger than 50, we coordinate multi-vessel charters so your entire party stays on the water together. See our luxury yacht fleet for full specs.
Boat rentals have a 2-hour minimum. Most groups book 3–4 hours, which provides time for cruising to a scenic cove, anchoring for swimming, and celebrating aboard. Half-day (5+ hours) and full-day options are available at reduced effective hourly rates.
Mutineers exclusively offers captained charters. All vessels are operated by USCG-licensed captains. If you specifically want a self-drive rental, other operators on Lake Lewisville offer smaller pontoons — but you'll need a Texas boater education card and a designated sober operator. Read our Lake Lewisville Boating Guide for a full comparison.
Lake Lewisville is a well-maintained reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with regular water quality monitoring and navigation aids. Mutineers vessels carry all Coast Guard–required safety equipment and are captained by a USCG Master Captain with First Aid and CPR certifications. Captain operates sober at all times — zero exceptions.
Mutineers offers flexible rescheduling for unsafe weather at no penalty — your deposit transfers to a new date. Captain Mitch monitors conditions before and during every charter. Light rain or a brief Texas pop-up storm rarely cancels a trip — most pass within 30 minutes. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, we won't go out.
Yes. Beer, wine, and champagne are allowed on Lake Lewisville for guests 21+. The captain operates sober at all times. No glass bottles recommended — cans and plastic are safer aboard. You're welcome to bring a cooler; onboard ice chests are also available.
At Mutineers, ‘boat rental' and ‘yacht charter' describe the same service — a captained luxury vessel with crew, safety equipment, and full amenities. We use both terms because guests search for both. Whether you call it a rental or a charter, you're getting a named yacht, a licensed captain, and a customizable itinerary on Lake Lewisville.
Absolutely. Every Mutineers yacht has swim deck access with a boarding ladder. Your captain anchors in one of Lake Lewisville's sheltered coves where the water is calm and the bottom is sandy — your group jumps straight from the swim deck into the lake. Most 3–4 hour charters include at least one anchor-and-swim stop.
