Mutineers Charter Services operates captained yacht charters and boat rentals on Lake Lewisville, serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metro from Arrowhead Park in Hickory Creek, TX. Below are answers to the most common questions about our fleet, pricing, booking process, and what to expect on the water.
Call (214) 277-9102 or text (903) 413-5431 with your preferred date, group size, and occasion type. We recommend the right yacht, provide a quote, and secure your date with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due the day of the charter. Book your charter now →
Weekend charters during peak season (May–September) typically book 2–3 weeks in advance. Weekday dates and off-peak months (October–April) often have same-week availability. Holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day) book 3–4 weeks ahead.
Mutineers offers flexible rescheduling if weather conditions make the charter unsafe. Your deposit transfers to a new date with no penalty. For voluntary cancellations, contact us as early as possible to discuss options.

Yes. Weekday charters (Monday–Thursday) are typically 10–15% lower than weekend rates. This is the best value option for corporate events and groups with flexible schedules.
Most yacht charters require a 4-hour minimum booking, with longer options such as half-day and extended charters available.
Longer durations often provide better value and allow time for cruising, anchoring, and enjoying the full experience on the water.
A captained charter eliminates the need for a boating license, a designated sober operator, and liability for the vessel. Self-drive rentals on Lake Lewisville require a Texas boater education card for anyone born after September 1, 1993. With Mutineers, your entire group enjoys the water while a USCG Master Captain handles navigation, anchoring, and safety. You also get larger vessels (45–67 ft) than any self-drive rental on the lake, plus sound systems, swim decks, and dance floors. For groups of 10+, the per-person cost is often comparable to a self-drive pontoon rental — with none of the responsibility. Compare boat types in our guide
Every Mutineers charter includes: USCG Master Captain, crew, all safety equipment (life jackets for every guest, fire extinguisher, first aid kit), premium Bluetooth sound system, swim deck access with anchor-and-swim capability, and a flexible itinerary. See our fleet and amenities →

Yes. Beer, wine, and champagne are allowed on Lake Lewisville. Guests must be 21+. The captain operates sober at all times — Mutineers strictly complies with Texas BWI (boating while intoxicated) laws. No glass bottles recommended; cans and plastic are safer aboard.
Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses (Texas sun is strong on the water). Towels and swimwear. A cooler with food and drinks. Your phone for the Bluetooth sound system. Decorations if celebrating. Camera for photos. Comfortable shoes that can get wet.
Glass bottles (safety hazard + prohibited in parks). Illegal substances (USCG-regulated vessel — federal rules apply). Pets (not permitted on charter vessels).
Mutineers monitors weather conditions before and on the day of every charter. If conditions are unsafe (lightning, high winds, severe storms), we offer flexible rescheduling at no penalty. Light rain and brief pop-up storms do not typically cancel a charter — Texas summer storms usually pass within 30 minutes.
Your captain has full authority over vessel safety, including alcohol-related situations. If a guest becomes a danger to themselves or others, the captain will address it directly and calmly. In extreme cases, the charter may return to the dock early. This has rarely been necessary — most groups self-regulate, especially with the swim deck and music keeping the energy fun rather than excessive. Mutineers operates under USCG regulations, so safety is non-negotiable.
Mutineers carries appropriate marine insurance. Normal wear from a charter (minor scuffs, spills) is expected and covered. Intentional or reckless damage (broken fixtures, vandalism) is the responsibility of the booking party. Your captain briefs the group on boat etiquette before departure to prevent issues. In 500+ charters, significant damage incidents have been extremely rare.
Our premium Bluetooth sound system connects to any phone and provides more than enough volume for a party. External speakers and DJs are possible on the 67-foot Gypsy Danger with advance coordination. Adult entertainment is permitted on private charters as long as all guests are 21+ and activities comply with Texas law. Lake Lewisville is a public waterway, so anything visible from other vessels or shore must be legal in public. Contact us to discuss specifics for your event.
Last-minute cancellations happen. If weather causes the cancellation, your deposit transfers to a new date with no penalty. For voluntary last-minute cancellations (within 48 hours), the deposit is typically non-refundable, but we work with guests on a case-by-case basis to find a fair resolution. Contact us as early as possible.
