Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Mutineers Charter Services ("Mutineers," "we," "us," or "our") wants everyone to be able to use our website and to enjoy a day on the water with us. This statement describes the steps we have taken toward digital accessibility, where we know there are limits, and how to reach us if you run into a barrier.
1. Our commitment
We aim to make www.mdm-charters.com usable for as many people as possible, and we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard.
2. Measures we have taken
Our website was rebuilt with accessibility in mind. Steps we have taken include:
- Semantic HTML structure with clear headings and page landmarks.
- A "skip to content" link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, menus, and interactive controls.
- Visible focus outlines so it is clear where you are on the page.
- Descriptive text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images.
- Color choices checked for sufficient contrast against their backgrounds.
- Respect for the "reduce motion" setting, so animations are minimized for visitors who prefer that.
- Labels and accessible names on form fields, buttons, and links.
3. Conformance status
We consider the website to be substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test with automated accessibility tools and manual checks as part of our work. We have not completed a formal third-party audit, so some issues may remain, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task.
4. Known limitations
Some parts of the site rely on third-party services that we do not fully control, and their accessibility may vary:
- The booking form on our contact page is provided by a third party. If you have any trouble using it, you can always call or text us instead.
- The background video on our home page is served by a third-party platform; it is decorative, and the site is fully usable without it.
- Maps and links to outside platforms are controlled by those providers.
5. Physical and vessel accessibility
We want to be honest about the on-water experience. Boarding takes place at a public dock at Arrowhead Park, and getting onto and moving around a boat can involve steps, uneven surfaces, and changing water conditions. Our vessels are recreational watercraft and are not guaranteed to accommodate all mobility devices.
We will do our best to help. If anyone in your group has a mobility, sensory, or other accessibility need, please call or text us before you book so the captain and crew can talk through your needs and advise on what is realistic for your group and the conditions on the day.
6. Feedback and contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, or you want to discuss accessibility for a charter, please let us know. Tell us the page or issue and how we can reach you, and we will make every reasonable effort to respond promptly, typically within a few business days.
