Captained Watersports & Ski Boat · Lake Lewisville

Captained Watersports on Lake Lewisville

Captained watersports on Lake Lewisville means skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing pulled by a Mutineers ski boat that a USCG-licensed captain drives for you. Every ride runs with a captain at the helm. There is no self-drive option, because the towing boat and the rider behind it stay under the captain's control the entire time. This is a captained boat charter for groups across DFW / Dallas-Fort Worth, not a self-drive rental.

Run by a USCG Master Captain with 30+ years on the water - veteran-owned, inspected, and insured.

What Captained Watersports on Lake Lewisville Means

Captained Watersports & Ski Boat on Lake Lewisville - Mutineers Charter Services

Captained watersports on Lake Lewisville is a towed-sport charter where a licensed captain drives the boat while your group skis, wakeboards, or rides a tube behind it. The captain sets the speed, watches the tow rope, and steers clear of other traffic. Guests ride and rest between turns; they never take the helm. This service is part of our captained boat rental on Lake Lewisville, run with a captain on every booking.

Picture the afternoon: the captain matches the boat's speed to whoever is up, so a first-timer on a tube and a confident wakeboarder each get a ride that suits them. Everyone else stays on board and takes the water at their own pace. The day stays about the sport, not the steering.

Because the captain handles the boat, your group can focus on the activity rather than the driving - which leads into the three towed sports we run.

Ski, Wakeboard & Tubing

A captained watersports charter covers three towed activities: water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. Each one is pulled behind the ski boat at a speed the captain sets for the rider. Beginners are welcome, because the captain starts slow and gives each rider time to get comfortable before picking up the pace.

Water Skiing

Water skiing has the rider stand on one or two skis while the boat tows them across the water. The captain holds a steady speed and a clean line so beginners can find their balance and stronger skiers can carve.

Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding has the rider strapped to a single board, riding and jumping the boat's wake. The captain shapes the wake by managing speed, which is why a trained driver matters for a good ride.

Tubing

Tubing seats one or more riders on an inflatable that the boat tows. It is the easiest of the three to pick up, so it suits mixed groups and younger riders who want the pull without the gear. That makes it a favorite for families, mixed-age groups, and first-time riders.

All three sports run from the same ski boats, so the next section covers which vessels pull your charter.

Our Ski Boats & Jet-Ski Add-On

Captained Watersports & Ski Boat on Lake Lewisville - Mutineers Charter Services

Two ski boats pull our watersports charters. Echo Danger seats up to 10 guests, which suits a larger group that wants to rotate through skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. Delta Danger seats up to 7, which suits a smaller group that wants more turns per rider. Both run with a captain at the helm and carry the ski, wakeboard, and tube gear for the day.

The jet ski, Lil Danger, is a 3-seat add-on you book alongside a charter boat. It is never a standalone rental, because it only runs as part of a captained booking. For full vessel details, specs, and capacities, see our fleet.

Vessel choice affects the rate, so pricing is covered below - but first, why a captain is part of every booking.

Why a Captain Is Required

Every Mutineers watersports charter runs with a captain because towing a rider safely takes a trained driver watching the rope, the rider, and nearby boats at the same time. A guest cannot do that and ride at once.

A USCG-licensed captain holds a federal credential that an unlicensed driver does not. That matters because a licensed, inspected, and insured operator is accountable for your group's safety in a way an unlicensed one is not. For lake conditions, launch points, and on-water rules, see the Lake Lewisville boating guide.

With the captain focused on safe towing, your group spends the day riding and resting rather than watching the helm. Since the captain is included on every charter, the rate is built around the boat and the hours you book.

Watersports Pricing

Watersports charters are priced by the hour, with the captain included. Delta Danger is available at $150 per hour, and a captain is required on every charter. Wakeboard, ski, or inflatable gear can be added for $50 per hour.

For Echo Danger rates, call or text us, since that boat's pricing is confirmed by request. The full, current rate sheet lives on the charter pricing page.

charter pricing

  • Do I need a boating license to ride?

No - you do not need a license. A USCG-licensed captain drives every Mutineers charter, so no one in your group needs to be licensed to ski, wakeboard, or tube.

  • Can we drive the boat or jet ski ourselves?

No - there is no self-drive option. All watersports run with a captain at the helm, and the jet ski runs only as a captained add-on.

  • Can beginners go water skiing or wakeboarding?

Yes - beginners can ski, wakeboard, or tube. The captain starts at a slow speed and builds up only as the rider gets comfortable, so a first-timer can learn without the pressure of driving the boat.

  • Can our group switch between skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing?

Yes - you can switch during the charter. Both ski boats carry ski, wakeboard, and tube gear for the day, so your group can rotate activities and riders as you go.

  • Is the jet ski available on its own?

No - Lil Danger is a 3-seat add-on. You book it alongside a charter boat, never as a standalone rental.

  • Where do watersports charters launch?

Charters launch from Arrowhead Park in Hickory Creek on Lake Lewisville. Parking there is $5 per vehicle per day, card-only.

  • How much does a watersports charter cost?

Delta Danger is $150 per hour with a mandatory captain, and gear adds +$50 per hour. For Echo Danger rates, call or text us, and see the charter pricing page for the full rate sheet.
